Mayor Jason L. McCoy today activated the town Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in preparation for Hurricane Irene.
“In anticipation of Hurricane Irene’s arrival, I have activated the town’s emergency operations center,” said Mayor McCoy.“We have spent the past few days extensively planning and implementing strategies in preparation for the hurricane. Our primary focus is to uphold public safety and we are well prepared to assist the community – we are prepared for today; Vernon is ready for Irene.”
